MESCALITO

Mescalito is a 1000-foot tall tower sitting at the mouth of PIne Creek Canyon. This spot shown in the photo has to be one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever started a climb from. The climbers in the background are starting up one of the very popular climbs at Red Rocks, a 10-pitch 5.8 called Dark Shadows. There is usually a line on it. Justin and I about to do Risky Business (5.10c), which starts just left of Justin. This a probably my very favorite climb at Red Rocks, and I’ve done many times. It’s a bit spicy, so I’ve never seen anyone else lined up to do it.
