INCARNATION

In about 2008 Steve Levin wanted some photos of me for the Eldorado guidebook he was working on. So, he lined up photographer Cody Blair and we did several shoots. One was on the Diving Board to reprise the classic photo of me from 1974. That yielded the photo in the Foreword I wrote for Steve’s first edition book. We also shot Incarnation (5.12), one of my favorites, back when I could still climb that hard. In this photo Cody really captured the beautiful hues and textures typical of Eldorado as the vivid yellow lichen interplays with dark desert varnish.
